They're dangerous men. Absolute enemies. And totally hot for each other.
Will has never met anyone like Kit. He’s arrogant. Gorgeous. Lethal. The most expensive bodyguard money can buy.
And Will can’t seem to resist him.
A simple command in Kit's cut-glass accent makes Will want things he’s never wanted, do things he’s never done. Their red-hot chemistry is off the charts.
Just one problem: Will has vowed to kill the billionaire that Kit is hell-bent on protecting.
And Kit has secrets, too—his own reasons for sacrificing his soul, piece by painful piece, to keep one of the worst men on earth alive.
It’s interesting to read a new to me author(s) especially when people rave about one or both of them. I get that excited feeling like I’m finally sitting at the cool kid’s table. I was so excited to read Enemy Like You by two authors I never read before. Collaborations are a tricky business because you have to mix the styles flawlessly. They really can’t be too glaringly different. In the beginning of this book in the Author’s Notes they state that one MC is American and one is British so they use the styles that way. So, color for Will and colour for Kit. I thought that was unique and I will say it doesn’t confuse anything.
I’m so used to reading authors from all over the world I rarely see the difference anymore.
So, it is duel POV’s, which I think I made obvious, and I don’t think this story would have been successful if it wasn’t. It’s an enemies to lovers novel and how it starts you really need to know what is going on in the other’s head. It made it click better and made any chemistry between Will and Kit believable.
There’s a bit of a mystery here but it’s one of those things where you don’t really know how much of a mystery it is until it’s revealed. The revelations were pretty good but somewhat anticlimactic and there isn’t a full resolution at the end so it is an HFN.
Will and Kit are spies, for lack of a better term, and they are supposed to be the best in the world but realistically they are not very good at all. Not as stealthy as they want to think they are and being as ruthless as Kit is known to be all of a sudden just looks at Will and can’t do what he’s supposed to do. So suspend reality here or it will eat at you.
The style of writing for these author though meshed well, like I said, it was hard for me to get into but I did eventually.
The sex is very very hot! And I loved that it didn’t saturate the book. Sex meant something to these guys and each encounter was important to strengthen their bond and that was really needed.
All in all I liked the book and was entertained by it but it felt unfinished. That can easily be explained in a future book as it looks like this will be a series so I hold judgment on that. Give it a go for sure it’s a good romantic suspense.
